MODEUROP Forecast for Autumn/Winter 2019/20

Already firmly established: Gallery SHOES is starting its third edition fully booked with over 500 brands from more than 20 countries and a corresponding line-up of side events. “A complete success! Gallery SHOES has well and truly made its mark and is now creating even more space for international brands, as well as a new Fashion Lifestyle Corner with a catwalk in the Premium area of the ›Kaltstahlhalle‹ hall,” says Ulrike Kähler, Project Director and Managing Director of Igedo.

“By intensifying its connection with Gallery SHOES, Marc Cain is showing its full committment to Düsseldorf. This represents a fantastic new trend and a return to shared success achieved by pooling strengths under one roof,” continues Ulrike Kähler.

The fact that Gallery SHOES and the Areal Böhler also attach great importance to the wellbeing of their visitors is also contributing to the tradeshow’s success. And there is also a lot of emphasis on further developing the event’s social meeting points: an important new change here is the main entrance at the ›Alte Schmiedehallen‹, which has now been completely covered with a tent so that taxis and shuttles can now drive directly up to the reception for optimum service. This is also where visitors will now find the outdoor area, which is where the get-together is taking place on Sunday evening, complete with food stalls and bistro. The two other already established entrances to Gallery SHOES will remain unchanged. Between the ›Kaltstahlhalle‹ and ›Alte Schmiedehallen‹ halls, visitors can also look forward to a second outdoor lounge with food stalls. With a chilled outdoor area, the ‘Glühofen-Gärtchen’ in the Comfort Zone perfectly completes the catering offer.

A small Press Centre can also be found in the inner courtyard between the ›Altes Kesselhaus‹ and the ›Alte Schmiedehallen‹, meaning that visitors never have far to go if they want to take some time out from the tradeshow and will also be close to the presentations of the accompanying side events.

Compared to last year, at the upcoming edition the Areal Böhler’s outdoor area will be used even more as an exhibition space: with plenty of summer vibes, brands such as new exhibitor Darkwood from Turkey, Havaianas from Brazil, Sioux-Grashopper and Chiemsee from Germany and Scotch & Soda from the Netherlands, as well as P448 from Italy, will be showcased in the stylish silver Airstream caravans. And schuhkurier’s trendy VW Transporter will be making an appearance once again, too.

Premium Zone

The ›Kaltstahlhalle‹ hall is being extended by a new bay. Around 1,900 m² of additional exhibition space awaits the visitors in the Premium Zone. Presenting themselves here are established brands like Pedro Miralles and Ras from Spain, Heinrich Dinkelacker from Germany, Barracuda and Bruè from Italy and Overland Shoes with G.H. Brass from the UK. New brands in the Premium Zone include Cordwainer via the Michalski agency from Germany, American brand Kenneth Cole and Italian brands Paul Silence, RucoLine andVoltan 1898. An absolute highlight is the Fashion Lifestyle Corner with a catwalk ‘powered by Marc Cain’, where several fashion shows a day will be taking place. Here, the successful, internationally represented brand will be showing its fashions styled with its own shoes, but also in combination with shoes by Högl and Peter Kaiser. This forum will also be opened up to other brands in the coming seasons.

Contemporary Zone

The list of contemporary brands, which can be found spread over several halls, includes names like Bruno Premi, Donna Carolina, Maripé and Nero Giardini from Italy, Unisa from Spain, Mephisto from France, Jack & Jones Footwear from Denmark, as well as Gordon & Bros and Marc O’Polo from Germany. Exciting new additions include: Colors of California from Italy, Mascolori from the Netherlands and German brand Digel, as well as US brand Hush Puppies.

Comfort Zone

The Comfort Zone will be taking up the ›Alte Federnfabrik‹ and half of the ›Glühofenhalle‹ with big brands like Berkemann, Finn Comfort, Josef Seibel, Marc and Romika. Comfort shoe brand Joya Schuhe from Switzerland is one of its new exhibitors. “For us this is a very important area, just like the Kids’ Zone,” says Ulrike Kähler.

Kids’ Zone

Now in the ›Edelstahlhalle‹, the Kids’ Zone will be presenting a variety of brands offering children’s footwear. Agency Tonino Capurro is coming, for example with brands Colors of California, Genuins-Gab-Al, Tommy Hilfiger and Verdecchia. Countries such as Italy, France, Portugal and the Netherlands will be represented with exciting brands like Bisgaard, Braqueez, Easy Peasy, Naturino, Noel and Primigi. Also making an appearance for the first time are Dutch label Go4it and Pepe Shoes from Switzerland. Further collections can be found across all zones at the booths of brands showcasing children’s shoes as part of their range – such as KangaROOS with their new kid’s shoe line ROOSKICKX!.

Urban Zone

Urban brands will be exhibited in the ›Alte Schmiedehallen‹ and ›Blankstahlhalle‹ halls. New recruits include brands like Antony Morato from Italy, Pavement from Portugal and US Polo from Germany.
